We offer Cheese & Wine Tastings as well as Outdoor Experience Raclette.


Cheese & Wine Tasting

Together with cheese sommelier and dairy engineer Wolfgang Fusenig and cultural and wine ambassador Alfred Strupp you will get to know the variety of tastes of regional cheeses.
The Greater Region offers a variety of over 100 farm and country cheese dairies just waiting to be discovered! Regional cheeses from nearby France, Luxembourg, Wallonia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland offer some unknown cheese delicacies right on our doorstep.
We, Sauerweins Winery and Wolfgang Fusenig, cheese sommelier and engineer for milk and dairy industry, offer you the opportunity to taste exclusively compiled, large-regional cheese specialties in correspondence with a wine selection perfectly composed for these cheeses. Let yourself be surprised by the world of flavors our homeland has to offer!

  • Welcome at 1:30 p.m. with Sauerweins sparkling wine and cheese finger food
  • Brief presentation of the so far „hidden“ large regional cheese culture
  • Sensory introduction to the tasting of cheese and wine
  • Guided tasting of 8 cheese delicacies from farm and country dairies in the Greater Region with corresponding wines from our winery
  • Detailed presentation of the individual types of wine and cheese and their producers
  • The focus there is varied, instructive entertainment in a pleasant atmosphere that will appeal to all your senses

This includes a sparkling wine reception with cheese finger food, 9 regional cheeses and matching wines.

Outdoor-Experience-Raclette

Wine enjoyment with a cheese chat at the rustic outdoor raclette table on the terrace in front of Sauerwein's winery.
Together with cheese sommelier and dairy engineer Wolfgang Fusenig and culture and wine ambassador Alfred Strupp you will experience enjoyable hours with collective culinary delights.

Schedule

Welcome and sparkling wine reception at 1:30 p.m., followed by raclette at the rustic outdoor raclette tables. A variety of cheeses, meat and vegetables are available. There are also matching wines.

Duration: 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m

Notes

The event takes place outside. It is warm at the tables, but please dress appropriately for the season.
